The Eight Wastes

1. Overproduction - Making more than what you need right now.
2. Waiting - waiting for approval from the behrocracy or for a part to arrive.
3. Unused talent - Not recognizing and using the full potential of your people.
4. Movement - having to move between work stations in order to complete a single task.
5. Defects - having to redo work or start something over because of a mistake made somewhere in the process.
6. Transportation - having to move resources all over the place to complete their processing.
7. Extra Processing - spending production resources on non-essential features.
8. Inventory - having to store and maintain unneeded raw materials or finished goods.
