On Blogging #1

The biggest adversary of any artist is not the blank page but themselves. How we act when there is endless possibilities tells us a lot about who we are.

This blog post has taken me days to write. Most of the time it has been blank. I would open it up and I wouldn't know what to write.

For the first 10 posts on this blog I used the blog number to help me decide what to write, but when I got to 11, and it no longer felt authentic. It felt like I was doing it just to continue the series and not because o has something to say about 11.

It just isn't an exciting number (which was one of my potential post ideas) and if I'm going to use the number as a theme I want to feel inspired by it. I don't want it to feel like work.

That is probably my problem, I don't want the work of writing to feel like work. I have fallen into a classic artists trap where the resistance to doing the hard work has immobilized me into doing nothing. Maybe this write by numbers theme is exactly what I need to stay consistent with my writing. I'll have to keep going to find out.
